One teenager is dead, and two others were hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash in Licking County Tuesday night.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, officers were called to a crash on Mink Street near the Condit Road intersection in Jersey Township, east of New Albany. Troopers arrived and discovered a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 off the west side of the road with three occupants.
An investigation indicated that 18-year-old Isaac Aguilera of Colorado was driving northbound on Mink Street when he lost control of his Dodge, crossed left of center to the west side of the road, and struck a ditch, a tree, a fence, and another tree before coming to a halt.
Aguilera was thrown from the driver’s seat and pronounced dead on the spot. Two juvenile passengers, aged 16 and 13, were also in the vehicle and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The juvenile’s status is unknown at this time, as is the wearing of seat belts by all three occupants. The cause of the crash is likewise unknown, as it is still being investigated.
