A 29-year-old Alexandria man is being held without bond after being arrested last month for drug and handgun possession near his West End apartment.
On Wednesday, Aug. 26, the suspect was apprehended in a car outside his apartment complex in the 2000 block of N. Beauregard Street after being tracked down while driving from New York. Earlier this month, an Arlington County Police Department investigator informed the Alexandria Police Department that it was investigating claims that the suspect was pressing and selling kilograms of cocaine from apartments in Arlington and Alexandria, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.
According to the affidavit, APD discovered that the subject is a convicted criminal who is wanted for an alleged drugs crime in Prince William County.
The guy was apprehended outside with a kilogram of suspected cocaine in his fanny pack, according to the affidavit. Inside his residence, authorities discovered three weapons (two in a kitchen drawer and one in a kitchen cabinet), 829.1 grams of cocaine divided into various bags, eight 16 fluid-ounce bottles of codeine, kilo presses, and bulk US money.
The defendant was charged with distributing more than 500 grams of cocaine, carrying more than 10 ounces of cocaine to Virginia, displaying a firearm while selling Schedule I/II substances, and possessing a firearm as a nonviolent offender within ten years of his sentence.
The suspect’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 13.
