A marital dispute in Pennsylvania took a dramatic turn when a man allegedly used an excavator to destroy a significant portion of his family home.
According to local reports, 48-year-old Eric Pierwsza tore apart the back of the house in Butler County with heavy equipment after a night of drinking led to an argument with his wife.
Investigators said the destruction was so extensive that it may have compromised the structural integrity of the entire home.
CBS News reported that the incident began when Pierwsza’s wife allegedly told him their marriage was over. In response, Pierwsza reportedly said, “If it’s over, I’ll tear the house down.”
He then carried out the threat.

According to reports, the noise of the excavator ripping through the house could be heard as his wife made a frantic 911 call for help.
Investigators said that after the destruction ended, Pierwsza returned inside, collected a gym bag, and left for town. Police later located him and took him into custody.
Pierwsza was arrested following the incident and now faces multiple charges, including causing a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
Court records indicate that his wife intended to seek a protection-from-abuse order after the frightening ordeal.
Neighbors who spoke with local news outlet KDKA-TV said they are still trying to make sense of how the situation spiraled out of control so quickly.
One neighbor joked during an interview with CBS News, saying he’d “like to know what she said to him because I’ll make sure I don’t say it.”
“Forty-two years I’ve been married, but I’ve never threatened to tear the house down.”
People quickly reacted to the bizarre incident on X, with many questioning how someone could be arrested for “damaging their own home.”
