Agents with the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force seized methamphetamine and other drug-related items after a pursuit in Allen County on Monday.
According to a press release from the task force, deputies with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop around 6:10 p.m. along Holland Road as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, but the vehicle fled westbound.
Authorities deployed a tire deflation device, but the driver kept fleeing and allegedly hit an unmarked detective’s vehicle before continuing through Scottsville’s city limits. The driver also reportedly tossed items out of the window as the chase went on.
In a press release issued Tuesday, the task force said authorities successfully disabled the vehicle on Briarfield, where they took 32-year-old Jordan Johnson of Tennessee into custody without further incident.
Upon searching the vehicle with the assistance of a K9, the task force said officers discovered “a large amount” of suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, and marijuana inside the car. Agents also searched the area where Jordan allegedly discarded items and found “a large amount” of methamphetamine along with paraphernalia.
Jordan now faces charges of marijuana possession; tampering with physical evidence; importing carfentanil, fentanyl, or fentanyl derivatives; first-offense trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree; delivery and/or manufacturing of drug paraphernalia; a first fentanyl TICS offense; and being a persistent felony offender II.
