A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for sections of southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts on Friday afternoon.
The warning applies to Belknap, Carroll, Cheshire, Grafton, Concord, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham, Strafford, and Sullivan counties. The National Weather Service also reports on Hampden, Hampshire, and Worcester counties in Massachusetts.
The warning will be issued at 5:45 p.m. in New Hampshire and 6:15 p.m. in Massachusetts. According to the National Weather Service, certain portions of Massachusetts may experience wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail.
Additionally, a thunderstorm watch is in force until 9:00 p.m. Friday night.
“Strong gusty winds, hail, and even a brief tornado are all possible during storms. Please shelter yourself if you are issued a warning!” Aj Mastrangelo, a meteorologist from Boston 25, made this statement.
