Both meetings will take place in May.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — As the planned summer closure of Interstate 65 in Louisville approaches, transportation officials are working to keep drivers informed about upcoming changes.
To help with that, two public information meetings have been scheduled for May.
The first meeting will be held on May 5 at duPont Manual High School at 5:30 p.m. Attendees can park by entering from West Cardinal Boulevard or Second Street and should use Door 22.
The second meeting is set for May 12 at the College Center at Spalding University, also beginning at 5:30 p.m. Parking is available via South Second Street, with entry through the main entrance.
Both meetings are expected to conclude around 7 p.m.

Why I-65 in Louisville is closing
During the closure, KYTC plans to replace bridges on I-65 over Kentucky Street/Brook Street, Hill Street/CSX Railroad/Burnett Avenue and Bradley Avenue near the fairgrounds.
Officials say a full closure will reduce construction delays by more than a year.
The new bridges are expected to last about 75 years.
When the closure ends on Aug. 1, I-65 will reopen with two lanes of traffic in each direction. Restrictions will remain in place until the project reaches substantial completion, which is expected in late 2027.
I-65 detour routes
Through traffic will be rerouted to I-264, also known as the Georgia Davis Powers Expressway, on the west side of Louisville.
KYTC said it selected this detour after two years of traffic studies, identifying it as the shortest route with the most available capacity.
To enter downtown: Use the Jefferson Street exit from southbound I-65 or travel via I-64.
To leave downtown: Take the East Liberty Street ramp to northbound I-65.
Some ramps along I-264 will also be temporarily widened to accommodate the increased traffic.
