Authorities identify 41-year-old killed after being trapped under car in Louisville’s PRP area

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Officials identified a bicyclist who died after becoming trapped under a vehicle during a crash Monday night in Louisville’s Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, officers responded around 8:20 p.m. to the 4900 block of West Pages Lane following reports of a crash involving a bicyclist.

Police said a man was riding his bike on West Pages Lane when a vehicle traveling in the same direction struck him.

On Wednesday, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the bicyclist as 41-year-old Michael Stilger.

Police said Stilger lost control of his bike after the impact and became trapped under the vehicle. The driver continued for a distance before stopping and calling for help.

PRP EMS and fire crews arrived at the scene and pronounced Stilger dead.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the incident and will consult with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to decide whether any charges will be filed.
