Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman launches run for Kentucky governor

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman officially announced Monday that she is running to become Kentucky’s next governor.

According to her office, Coleman is emphasizing “her deep Kentucky roots, service to her community from her classroom and the basketball court to the Capitol and her common sense solutions for the Commonwealth.”

“I spent the last two years meeting with Kentuckians, asking them what they are looking for in their next governor,” Coleman said. “It’s crystal clear: they want someone who will show up, listen and focus on the issues that truly matter to their families. Not someone who is distracted by the culture war of the day. A governor who will continue to fight for Kentuckians and against the chaos and toxic negativity coming out of Washington, D.C. If you’re looking for somebody to talk less about politicians and more about you, for someone who listens more than they talk, here she is.”

“Kentucky’s economy is leading the nation. I’m proud the Beshear-Coleman administration has created nearly 70,000 new jobs and generated over $45 billion worth of investment in the Commonwealth. But now is not the time to ease up. In fact, I believe the next governor must continue prioritizing economic and workforce development while also placing a renewed focus on developing people.”
