Bevin’s estranged son allowed to pursue child support, judge rules

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A judge has ruled that the estranged adopted son of former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin can move forward in seeking child support.

Judge Will Moynahan of the Kentucky Court of Appeals issued the decision.

Louisville’s FOX affiliate, WDRB, reported on April 9 that 19-year-old Jonah Bevin had not pursued support earlier because he was still a minor enrolled in a Jamaican boarding school.

Jonah has accused his parents of sending him to the Jamaican school, alleging it had an abusive learning environment. Authorities in Jamaica have since shut the school down.

Matt Bevin and his ex-wife, Glenna Bevin, finalized their divorce in March 2025. Bevin’s request to remove a judge from the child support case remains pending.
