LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — South Hurstbourne Parkway fully reopened after a multi-car crash involving at least four vehicles injured nine people and sent five to the hospital.

Louisville Metro Police said officers responded around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, to a collision at South Hurstbourne Parkway and Watterson Trail.

When they arrived, they found at least four vehicles involved. Because the crash happened during rush hour and required extensive emergency response, all lanes were temporarily shut down.

Nine people were hurt, and five were taken to nearby hospitals with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash.
