LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a body was discovered in the Ohio River near the Abraham Lincoln Bridge on Nov. 10, according to an LMPD news release.
Officers responded just after 10 a.m. to reports of a body spotted near the Louisville shoreline, said department spokesperson Aaron Ellis. The LMPD River Unit recovered what appeared to be an adult body, though the person’s gender, race, and age have not yet been determined.
“We will know more after a postmortem examination is completed,” Ellis stated.
The LMPD Homicide Unit is leading the investigation as authorities work to identify the individual and determine the cause of death.
