A man has died after trying to flee a crash at Louisville’s Spaghetti Junction.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Authorities have identified the man who died while attempting to run from a crash at Spaghetti Junction early Sunday morning.

Around 2 a.m., officers responded to a collision on I-64 East near I-65. Investigators said the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe, identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Christian Shively, rear-ended a Land Rover at high speed.

Shively reportedly jumped out of his vehicle and tried to flee on foot but was struck by a passing driver on I-64 West. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Land Rover’s driver was not injured, and the motorist who hit Shively remained at the scene. Police said no charges are expected.

The LMPD Traffic Unit continues to investigate the incident.
