LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — As the government shutdown continues, hundreds of thousands of federal employees — including TSA agents, airport staff, and air traffic controllers — are working without pay.

Across the country, airport authorities are teaming up with food assistance organizations to provide emergency meals for affected workers. One such effort is at the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, where volunteers are distributing meals through Second Harvest Heartland, a local food bank.

“I can’t believe they’re so gracious to us, but I am gracious to them for showing up for volunteer shift as TSA,” said Ethan Neal of Second Harvest Heartland. “We’re just here to fill the gaps and make sure these people and their families stay fed.”

The Louisville Regional Airport Authority has also joined in, offering lunch to federal employees while they continue working through the shutdown.
