LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Part of downtown Louisville was blocked Tuesday afternoon ahead of the evening rush hour due to a water main break.

According to the Louisville Water Company, crews were working to repair the break at the corner of Preston and Gray streets.

Video shared on social media showed mud covering much of the ground in the area. The incident happened near Norton Healthcare Pavilion.

The water main break caused traffic closures at Broadway and Preston Street and at Chestnut and Preston streets.

Louisville Water advised drivers to avoid the area while crews completed repairs.
