LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — The Cedar Lake Foundation hosted its first-ever Cedar Lake Stroll on Saturday, October 11, to raise awareness and support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The event, held at Cedar Lake Lodge, featured an all-abilities walk and a family-friendly fall festival. All paths around the lodge were wheelchair-accessible, and participants were encouraged to complete as many laps as they wished.

The fall festival included arts and crafts booths, a kids’ zone with face painting and a caricature artist, food trucks, music, and an Artists Village showcasing creations made by individuals supported by Cedar Lake’s programs.

Misty Scurlock, Director of Marketing for Cedar Lake, said, “What made the day so special wasn’t just the weather but the spirit of togetherness. It was a reminder that we are all connected — and stronger when we walk side by side.”

Although the event was free, donations were accepted, with proceeds supporting Cedar Lake’s residential services, day programs, and enrichment activities. Organizers hope to make the Cedar Lake Stroll a yearly tradition in Louisville.
