73-year-old woman killed in Osage County crash, 70-year-old man airlifted to hospital

A 73-year-old woman lost her life Wednesday in a crash in Osage County on Highway 100 near Brandt Road, the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report confirmed.

According to the report, the Linn woman was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala eastbound when she suffered a medical emergency. Her vehicle veered off the right side of the road, struck several trees and a fence, traveled through a large field, and ultimately overturned.

Authorities pronounced the driver dead at the scene, and her body was transported to Morton Funeral Home in Linn.

Her passenger, a 70-year-old man from Bonnots Mill, Missouri, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia, the report stated.

Neither person wore a seatbelt, according to the report. The Impala was totaled.

MSHP reports do not name those involved in crashes.
