Florida Mom Sentenced To Life Without Parole In Fatal Beating Of 4-Year-Old Adopted Son

A 38-year-old woman will spend the rest of her life in prison after being sentenced for the deadly beating of her four-year-old adopted son.

Patricia Saintizaire was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on August 14. On July 8, a jury convicted her of first-degree murder, two charges of aggravated child abuse, and witness tampering.

Saintizaire was sentenced to 65 years for child abuse and 12 years for witness tampering, all of which will run concurrently with her life sentence.

Bryan Boyer died in May 2024. An autopsy later found that the boy died as a result of a deep cut in his liver, as well as multiple other injuries consistent with continued physical abuse.

During the inquiry, officers discovered home surveillance film that showed Saintizaire striking the 4-year-old, tying his hands behind his back, and throwing him into a pool. Investigators also spoke with a 16-year-old sibling, who indicated that Saintizaire had instructed them not to inform law enforcement about the abuse.

The punishment session lasted less than 15 minutes, and no family members provided victim impact comments.

Following the hearing, State Attorney Brian Haas outlined how the matter would be resolved.

“The jury made the right decision in convicting Patricia Saintizaire of first-degree murder,” Haas stated. “The life sentence was justified. While we know we can’t bring Bryan back, the defendant will spend the rest of her life in jail, never able to harm another kid.
