Tennessee teen sentenced to prison after planning mass casualty attack at Nashville mosque

Federal court has sentenced the Stewart County teen charged with planning to attack a Nashville mosque.

Gunner Fisher, 19, was sentenced on May 6 following an FBI investigation in 2024.

Fisher’s 24-month prison sentence will begin in July 2026. He pleaded guilty to two counts of threats in interstate communication.

Fisher will serve three years of supervised release following his sentence, which will include mental health and substance abuse therapy, among other restrictions. He is also prohibited from contacting anyone linked with the Muslim Advisory Council or any known member of the true crime group unless granted permission by probation.

Fisher was arrested in December 2024 after Meta notified the FBI about suspicious communications from his Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Court filings previously revealed that Fisher discussed mass shooting plans with another user online, mentioning firearms, ammunition, tactical gear, and potential targets, including a Nashville mosque.

Solomon Henderson, the perpetrator in the January 2025 massacre at Antioch High School, mentioned Fisher’s arrest in his online blog. Henderson wrote about Fisher, claiming that he was from his neighborhood after learning of his arrest, which was related to his mass assault preparations.
