Rain chances will increase across Louisville Friday evening, with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms developing and becoming more widespread overnight into early Saturday.
WHAS11 has issued a Weather Impact Alert for late Friday through Saturday morning, as periods of rain could turn heavy at times, with lightning posing a concern overnight.
This stretch of unsettled weather arrives just as some of the Kentucky Derby Festival’s biggest events begin to ramp up.
The Great Balloon Glow is set for Friday night, followed by the miniMarathon and Marathon early Saturday morning, with the Pegasus Parade scheduled later in the weekend.
