Shelby County Emergency Services said dispatchers received a call around 4:20 p.m. reporting an aircraft making an emergency landing in a field.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A small airplane was forced to make an emergency landing in Kentucky on Monday.
Shelby County Kentucky Emergency Services said dispatch received the call about the emergency landing in a field Monday afternoon.
Investigators believe the aircraft was traveling from Lexington to Louisville when it experienced mechanical issues mid-flight, forcing it to land near Fisherville Road.
Officials said the plane landed safely, with no injuries or damage reported, while the pilot remained on the phone with 911 dispatchers.
Authorities added that both the pilot and the passenger declined medical treatment.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Management crews responded to the scene.
Officials said Kentucky’s Emergency Operations Center, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified.
