Man in Critical Condition After Being Hit by Vehicle in Newburg

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man remains in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in the Newburg neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Officers responded around 8:50 p.m. to a report of a pedestrian hit in the 5900 block of Preston Highway on Wednesday, April 1.

Police said initial findings indicate a vehicle traveling northbound on Preston Highway struck a man who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk.

The victim was transported to UofL Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

Due to the severity of the incident, LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.

Police said no charges are expected at this time.
