The National Weather Service in Louisville confirmed that an EF-1 tornado moved across parts of Kentucky late on March 15.

A preliminary report released March 17 shows the tornado traveled about 44 miles through Grayson County, Hardin County, and Meade County between 11:03 p.m. and 11:44 p.m.

The storm produced peak wind speeds of 110 mph and reached a maximum width of 100 yards. Officials reported no human fatalities or injuries, though three cattle were killed in Grayson County.

First responders initially spotted the tornado north of Caneyville in Grayson County. Residents reported damage to trees and farm structures, including roof damage and wooden planks from a barn being driven into a home.

As the storm moved into Hardin and Meade counties, it continued to damage trees and buildings. A home on Pierce Mill Road in Hardin County suffered significant damage, with part of its roof torn off above the garage and living area.

Damage extended as far north as Fort Knox, where a trained spotter reported tree damage on the base.

Officials said damage surveys are also underway in Bullitt County and Nelson County, though storm ratings have not yet been finalized.

Meteorologists plan to assess additional damage in Logan County and Warren County on March 17, followed by Clinton County on March 18 as evaluations continue across the region.
