Louisville — A series of crashes across major roadways slowed the Tuesday morning commute as drivers dealt with snowy and slick conditions.

According to reports, multiple accidents along Interstate 65—both northbound and southbound between the airport and Old Louisville—caused significant delays for commuters.

Additional crashes near East St. Catherine Street and Arthur Street further worsened traffic. A single-vehicle crash near Arthur Street blocked the two left southbound lanes, contributing to congestion that lasted for several hours.

On Interstate 264, also known as the Watterson Expressway, a two-vehicle crash near the I-65 interchange shut down the left two lanes and shoulder.

Another crash on the eastbound ramp to Bells Lane forced officials to close the ramp entirely, backing up traffic to Dumesnil Street and Virginia Avenue. The ramp from Preston Highway onto I-264 eastbound was also closed due to a separate single-vehicle accident.

Meanwhile, a three-vehicle crash on I-264 west near Newburg Road closed the center lane, adding to delays across the city.

Officials have not reported any serious injuries, but drivers experienced extended travel times as crews worked to clear the crashes.
