LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A woman died following a crash in Bullitt County on Saturday night.
According to Kentucky State Police, the collision occurred around 7:34 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the intersection of KY 44 East and Watergate Drive near Mt. Washington.
KSP’s preliminary investigation indicates a juvenile was driving westbound on KY 44 East when the vehicle’s passenger-side tires went off the right side of the roadway onto a steep shoulder. Police say the driver then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross into the eastbound lane and strike a Ford Escape head-on.
Authorities say the Ford traveled down a small embankment and flipped onto its roof before coming to a stop. The driver, 27-year-old Sarah Weisman of Shepherdsville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The juvenile driver was not injured.
KSP continues to investigate the crash.
