RICHMOND, Ky. — Kentucky State Police Post 7 announced that troopers will conduct periodic traffic safety checkpoints across the district to enhance roadway safety and ensure compliance with state laws.

What to expect
According to KSP, the checkpoints are intended to provide high-visibility public safety services. Troopers will focus on:

Operator impairment, including DUI enforcement
Vehicle equipment violations
Valid registration and insurance
Valid driver’s licenses

“Our agency strives daily to ensure the safety of the motoring public,” KSP said in a news release issued Friday. “These checkpoints will allow the Kentucky State Police the opportunity to periodically concentrate its efforts in checking for violations that will ultimately increase the safety of the citizens within the Commonwealth.”
