LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A stretch of I-264 East near Cane Run Road in Shively briefly closed Wednesday morning after winter weather left the roadway icy and hazardous.

Shively Police Department spokesperson Jordan Brown said multiple crashes prompted the closure.

“The roadway is completely covered in ice,” Brown said.

By around 10:30 a.m., state highway crews had applied additional salt, and the roadway was reopened. Drivers are still urged to use caution in the area.

Several other crashes have been reported across the Louisville region due to the icy conditions.
