DRY RIDGE, Ky. (WXIX) — The two women killed nearly a week ago in Northern Kentucky have been identified.
Kentucky State Police announced Tuesday that 35-year-old Brandy Nash and 81-year-old Lola Cheeks died in the crash that happened on Jan. 14 along Taft Highway.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 11:15 a.m.
Cheeks was driving a 2024 Toyota RAV4 that crossed the center line and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado head-on, according to state police.
Troopers said Cheeks was the only person inside the RAV4, while four people were inside the Chevrolet. Two adults, including Nash, who was seated in the front passenger seat, and two juveniles were riding in the truck.
KSP said both Nash and Cheeks died at the scene. Neither woman had been previously identified by police.
The two juveniles in the Silverado were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and were reported to be in stable condition.
The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital and is expected to recover, troopers said.
