LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A tow truck driver was arrested Tuesday night after driving the wrong way on Dixie Highway and crashing into another vehicle.

According to LMPD, the crash occurred around 9 p.m. in the 12700 block of Dixie Highway near Blevins Gap Road. Israel Rivera Gonzalez, 49, was driving a Suburban Towing truck when he struck another car.

Gonzalez failed multiple sobriety tests at the scene and was taken into custody. During a search, police found several syringes, and Gonzalez admitted to taking fentanyl before the crash.

He faces charges including wanton endangerment and operating a motor vehicle under the influence, along with additional related charges.
