Macks Creek woman killed in hydroplaning crash on U.S. 54 in Camden County

A woman from Macks Creek died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Camden County.

According to a post from Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F on X, troopers responded to the crash on U.S. 54 near Route AA, south of Camdenton.

The crash report states the incident happened around 8:10 a.m. when a Hyundai sedan driven by the 30-year-old Macks Creek woman hydroplaned and spun out. The vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a Chevy pickup truck driven by a 39-year-old man from Roach.

After the collision, the Hyundai traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, the report said.

The Roach man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

Highway Patrol officials said both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Authorities also reported both vehicles were totaled.

The Missouri Department of Transportation Traveler Information Map showed the roadway was closed after the crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. By 1:30 p.m., the crash site had been cleared and the road was reopened.
