Three-year-old from Kansas City drowns in southwest Missouri river: MSHP

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A child from Kansas City, Kansas has drowned in southwest Missouri, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the three-year-old girl was in the Elk River on the south end of 2 Sons Beach when officials reported the drowning just around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday night.

2 Sons Beach sits in the far southwest corner of the state, just northwest of Bentonville, Arkansas in McDonald County, Missouri.

Information remains limited, but MSHP says officials pronounced the child dead at the scene around 7:35 a.m. on Sunday morning.
