$367,000 in drugs and 23 guns seized in Louisville raids; 2 arrested after 5-month investigation

Barbour County Sheriff’s deputies and the sheriff’s office drug unit executed three search warrants simultaneously at three residences inside the Louisville city limits during the early morning hours of April 30, 2026, according to the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities reported that three teams of six officers served the warrants. Officials stated that each location was accessed by forcing entry via doorways.

Investigators reported seizing various suspected narcotics, including 714 grams of cocaine, 1,184 grams of methamphetamine, 309 grams of ecstasy pills, 125 grams of amphetamine salts, 618 grams of mushrooms, 1,860 grams of marijuana, 108 THC vape pens, and 118 grams of synthetic cannabinoids, also known as Spice. The sheriff’s office calculated a total street value of $367,062.

In addition to drugs, investigators reported seizing 23 weapons, four of which were reported stolen, six containers of moonshine, three pairs of brass knuckles, three vehicles, and $512 in US currency.

Two people were arrested as part of the investigation: Don McClendon Jr., 69, of 4 West Street in Louisville, and Xzavier Dontrail Hill, 28, of 60 Shipman Quarters in Louisville. The sheriff’s office stated that both were processed and put into the Barbour County Jail, where they remain pending a bond hearing.

The Barbour County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit claimed it has been investigating the issue for almost five months. Sheriff Smith complimented deputies and staff for their “professionalism and dedication,” describing their work as a significant service to the community.
