The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) says crews will close lanes on I-71/I-75 northbound on the Brent Spence Bridge Monday night as part of ongoing project preparations.
Monday, April 20 – Tuesday, April 21
At 10:00 p.m. on April 20, crews will close the far-left northbound lane of I-71/I-75 on the Brent Spence Bridge between mile markers 191.5 and just north of the Kentucky/Ohio state line (mile point 191.77), covering about 0.27 miles.
At 11:00 p.m., a second northbound lane will also close.
The right two northbound lanes will remain open during the work.
Access to both I-71 and I-75 in Ohio will be maintained throughout the closure period.
All lanes are expected to reopen by 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.
About the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project
The Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project is a major transportation initiative spanning about eight miles of I-71/75 in Kentucky and I-75 in Ohio. The project includes construction of a new companion bridge, upgrades to the existing Brent Spence Bridge to carry local traffic, and improvements designed to reduce congestion and enhance safety by separating local and through traffic.
Plans also include redesigned ramps throughout the corridor and new pedestrian and bicycle connections to link neighborhoods with jobs and transit.
Officials say schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
Drivers can check real-time traffic updates, including road construction, accidents, delays, and traffic speeds, as well as camera views showing congestion along I-75.
