LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) will hold its bi-weekly press conference Wednesday, focusing on the department’s consent decree progress.

The Effective Law Enforcement For All group, which has previously assisted police reform efforts in New Orleans and Minneapolis, will review LMPD’s progress.

Officials are also expected to share details about a new Tri-City Police Academy, a collaborative initiative between LMPD, Nashville, and Knoxville Police Departments. The academy is designed to help officers and staff share best practices and build partnerships.

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
