A Texas big rig driver has been taken into custody in connection with a Shreveport woman’s death in a two-vehicle incident in DeSoto Parish last year.
On Friday, state troopers arrested Houston resident Oghenevwegba Ikuku, 30, on charges of negligent homicide and reckless driving. He was booked at the DeSoto Parish Detention Center. The bond has not been set as of Monday.
Ikuku is accused with the death of Brandy Thomas, 35, on November 28.
The crash occurred on November 26 on U.S. Highway 171 at Griffin Drive in Stonewall. Thomas, driving a 2024 Nissan Altima, was stopped at a red light in the right lane. At the same time, Ikuku, driving a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia southbound, failed to stop at the intersection and collided with Thomas’ automobile.
