One person was shot on the east side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
On Monday, around 7:10 a.m., IMPD officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 2200 block of N Shadeland Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they were met with a 40-year-old male with gunshot wounds.
According to police reports, a woman allegedly shot her spouse in the arm with a firearm.
The man was said to be in stable condition, while the woman was held on the scene.
Police released the lady from custody on Tuesday after checking with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to police, preliminary evidence indicates that the woman was struck by a vehicle driven by the man shortly before shooting him.
The man has been detained on preliminary allegations of battery with a deadly weapon.
