2 fugitives apprehended by Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office; guns, half-pound of marijuana recovered

Allegheny County Sheriff’s detectives apprehended a woman who had been a fugitive for over three years, as well as a second sought man, on Jersey Street in McKeesport.

Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced the charges after investigators found two firearms and more than a half-pound of suspected marijuana at the home.

Detectives proceeded to the home to find 45-year-old Leah Saluga, who opened the door and was detained. Terron Porterfield, 22, was discovered and arrested by cops during a subsequent safety check of the property.

Saluga had been evading capture since September 2023. She was wanted on two bench warrants after failing to appear for sentencing in a driving under the influence case and missing a court hearing in another drug possession matter.

Porterfield was wanted on a bench warrant issued this month for a probation violation stemming from a 2025 guilty plea to a gun crime. He also had an ongoing arrest warrant from West Mifflin for escaping a police officer.

While making the arrests, officers discovered evidence of guns and suspected marijuana inside the home. Authorities subsequently sought and secured a search warrant, resulting in the recovery of two handguns, including a .45-caliber Glock 21, and somewhat more than a half-pound of suspected marijuana.

Saluga and Porterfield were taken to the Allegheny County Jail on existing warrants. Porterfield faces additional gun and drug accusations as a result of the search.
