Mississippi woman taken into custody after kids test positive for drugs

A Mississippi woman was taken into custody after drug tests showed that she and two of her children had tested positive for illegal drugs.

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the matter on July 30 after receiving information from Child Protective Services that Neely Taylor, 23, may have been introducing her children to drugs.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, drug tests returned on August 18 revealed that Taylor and two of her children tested positive for illegal substances.

Investigators then secured warrants to charge Taylor with two counts of child endangerment. She was detained at her house on August 18th, without incident.

A Lafayette County Justice Court judge set Taylor’s bond at $20,000.00. She remained in the Lafayette County Detention Center awaiting bond while also subject to a Mississippi Department of Corrections hold.
