A Central Florida woman claimed $2 million in a scratch-off game.
The Florida Lottery recently announced that Rose Simmons of Winter Haven won the $2 million top prize in the 100X The Cash scratch-off game.
The Central Florida woman chose to receive her prize in one lump sum payment of $1,111,700.
The Polk County winner bought her winning ticket at 7-Eleven, which is located at 4000 Recker Highway in Winter Haven.
She claimed her top reward at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
The $10 100X The Cash scratch-off game has over $243.4 million in cash prizes, including over ten top prizes of $2 million. According to the Florida Lottery, only one top reward remains.
The game’s overall winning odds are 1 in 3.49.
Scratch-off games are a key part of the Lottery’s range of games, accounting for over 74% of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024. Furthermore, since their establishment, scratch-off games have paid out more than $70.8 billion in prizes, created 2,475 millionaires, and raised more than $20.98 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
The Florida Lottery is responsible for more than $49 billion in education funding and sending over 983,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program. The Florida Lottery reinvests 99 percent of its revenue back into the state’s economy through prize payouts, commissions to over 13,550 Lottery merchants, and educational transfers. Since 1988, Florida Lottery games have given out over $104.8 billion in prizes, making more than 4,475 millionaires.
