Speedway gas station sells $1 Million Ohio Lottery ticket

A gamble on a $20 scratch-off ticket paid out handsomely for a Columbus man, who now intends to buy a house, pay off his car, and share some of his profits with loved ones.

According to the Ohio Lottery, the winning $1,000,000 Stacked Scratch-Off ticket was purchased at a Speedway in Upper Arlington.

The winner informed lottery authorities he couldn’t believe it when he realized he had won the jackpot of $40,000 per year for 25 years, totaling $1 million.

“At first, he wondered whether he was dreaming and kept thinking, ‘Is this real?’ He had previously won smaller prizes at this store, but nothing like this,” according to a media statement.

According to lottery officials, the winner chose the $500,000 cash option. After taxes, he will receive $366,250.
