Hickory Creek resident wins $1 Million on scratch lottery ticket bought in Denton

A Hickory Creek resident won the $1 million top prize in the Texas Lottery scratch ticket game ‘$1,000,000 Cash lottery officials said.

The winning ticket was purchased in Denton at S & B Store, which is situated at 1918 N Carroll Blvd. The claimant decided to remain anonymous.

This is the second of four $1 million top prizes awarded in the ‘$1,000,000 Ca$h!’ game, which has a total prize pool of more than $91.5 million. The overall chance of winning any reward in the game is one in 3.99, including break-even awards. Under the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Incentive Program, S & B Store might get a $10,000 incentive for selling the winning ticket.

Since the first ticket was sold in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated more than $43 billion in revenue for the state and distributed more than $98 billion in prizes to lottery players, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Since 1997, the Texas Lottery has provided $37 billion to the Foundation School Fund, which promotes public education in Texas. Certain Texas Lottery proceeds also benefit state programs such as the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance.
