A driver with a suspended license was apprehended in The Villages while driving an uninsured Jeep.
Franklin Chester Hensley, 57, of Dunnellon, was driving the green two-door 1997 Jeep on Wednesday afternoon when an officer discovered the glass was cracked, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. A traffic stop was begun on Warm Springs Avenue, near the Village of Fenney.
The officer determined that the Jeep was not allocated a license plate. The vehicle’s title said that it had been “sold” and that the former owner had died.
Hensley confirmed that his license had been suspended and that the vehicle was not insured. He was also detained in April by Wildwood police for driving with a suspended license.
The Indiana native was detained on allegations of driving with a suspended license, driving without a registration, and driving without insurance. He was taken into the Sumter County Detention Center on a $1,150 bond.
