‘It was justice’: Man injured in deadly shooting of his twin speaks after suspect killed by police

An LMPD spokesperson said investigators followed all leads, but no additional arrests were made in the case.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Ravon Allen said he and his twin brother Remon had been inseparable since birth, with only six minutes between them.

“Remon was my rock,” Ravon said. “No matter what was going on, Remon was always a happy person.”

On March 20, a young man they had invited into their home allegedly shot both brothers.

Ravon described what he remembers from that night. With blood in his eyes, he tried to reach his brother.

“When I could reach him, I slapped his leg like twice. He didn’t move at all,” he said. “And I felt like right then and there that he passed.”

Remon later died at UofL Hospital.

His family called for justice, which they believe was ultimately delivered.

Louisville Metro Police said 18-year-old Nathan Walker was the suspect in the shooting on Caldwell Street. He died April 6 after exchanging gunfire with officers in a Taco Bell parking lot.

“The officers on that day knew who they were looking for,” Deputy Chief Ryan Bates said.

Police said Walker had the stolen gun used in the shooting when they found him after the exchange of gunfire.

“I started to forgive him, and I just started praying about it,” Ravon said. “And then next thing, you know, that ended up happening. So I really feel like it was justice.”

Ravon said he continues to deal with physical injuries, including ongoing pain on his left side and vision loss in his right eye. He expects a long recovery.

What remains hardest is the emotional loss of his twin.

“Some days I cry, and some days when I think about them, I’m happy,” Ravon said. “But like I said, God gives me the strength to go on.”
