Louisville — Preparations are underway for Thunder Over Louisville, and officials have announced upcoming bridge closures across the city.
The Clark Memorial Bridge will be closed to traffic on the following schedule:
- April 16: Closes at 9:30 a.m. and remains closed until Sunday at 2 p.m.
- April 17: Closed all day
- April 18: Closed all day
- April 19: Closed from midnight to 3 p.m.
The Big Four Bridge will also have limited access:
- April 17: Closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for air show practice
- April 18 (Thunder Day): Closed from 10 a.m. to midnight
The Kentucky Derby Festival said closures are necessary for safety operations, with signage posted to inform the public about restrictions.
This year’s “Thunder in the U.S.A.” event is scheduled for April 18, with the air show beginning at 3 p.m. and the fireworks show starting at 9:30 p.m.
