Authorities say the investigation into a fatal officer-involved shooting in western Kentucky remains ongoing.
According to Kentucky State Police, the incident happened on March 27 in McCracken County when Department of Corrections Probation and Parole officers went to a home on Marquess Drive in Paducah to make contact with a re-entry offender, Brandon Reed.
While officers were at the residence, 22-year-old Rayshawn Tucker reportedly came out from the back of the home and attacked one of the officers with an edged weapon.
Police said two probation and parole officers then fired their weapons, resulting in Tucker’s death.
Kentucky State Police, which handles investigations into officer-involved shootings at the request of local, state, and federal agencies, is leading the case.
Officials said the timeline for completing the investigation will depend on the complexity of the situation, and no additional details have been released.
