Fox News journalist Abby Hornacek was unexpectedly thrown to the ground by a professional wrestler during a live TV segment, raising concerns about safety.

Hornacek agreed to be suplexed by wrestler Kennedy Blades as part of the segment to show viewers what the move looks like, though the stunt carried significant risk.

She later shared the clip on X, writing: “Got suplexed by an Olympian today, so that was cool.” In the video, Hornacek, dressed in professional attire, is lifted, flipped upside down, and slammed onto the mat. She quickly got back up, calling the experience “amazing,” but admitted she would not pursue wrestling.

The short clip shows the wrestler lifting and fully inverting the reporter before she lands hard on the mat with a loud impact.

The incident was later discussed on GB News, where presenter Ben Leo criticized the stunt, calling it “utterly ridiculous.”

“A Fox News reporter has taken a hit in the name of journalism,” he said before airing the footage. He added that Hornacek mentioned her mic pack was damaged, then remarked, “You idiot. You could have paralysed her for life.”

Contributor Matthew Torbitt also questioned the decision, saying, “Well what is she doing? I don’t know who is the bigger idiot, the girl for doing it or the reporter going, ‘yeah throw me on the neck and see what happens.’ All in the name of journalism, fine, but you wouldn’t catch me doing that. It was bizarre.”

Ben Leo warned that such moves are dangerous without proper training, noting that wrestlers have been paralysed from similar incidents.

Another panelist described the situation as “dumb on all parties,” while suggesting the reporter may not have fully understood the risks.

Social media users also reacted with concern. One asked, “Is this not risky for an untrained person?” while another said, “That could have ended poorly. Very unnecessary stunt.” A third joked, “I hope the anchor has good insurance.”

Hornacek later said she would “stay off the mat from now on,” though she described the experience as feeling like being “thrown off a skyscraper.”
