MADISONVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police launched a homicide investigation Monday after receiving reports of a body lying in the road in a Guthrie neighborhood.
Dispatch began receiving calls around 9:20 a.m. on Monday, March 8. Witnesses reported finding a man who had been shot lying in the road on Springmont Circle. According to KSP, the victim was later identified as 24-year-old Evan Hall.
Troopers said their initial investigation led them to charge 24-year-old Jerell Edmonds of Elkton in connection with the shooting. Authorities said he allegedly shot two people, fatally injuring Hall.
Edmonds was charged with murder, fourth-degree assault, and possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Todd County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
