LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Police in southern Indiana removed dangerous drugs from the streets after discovering fentanyl packaged as candy during a traffic stop.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found a loaded handgun, marijuana, and fentanyl during a recent routine traffic stop, according to a social media post shared Sunday.

Authorities said the fentanyl was disguised as multi-colored tablets packaged like candy and labeled “Bazooka Bubble Gum.” The sheriff’s department warned that drugs disguised this way are becoming increasingly common, particularly among younger people.

“We encourage parents and guardians to have open conversations with teenagers and young adults about the dangers of drugs like these and the very real risks associated with fentanyl,” the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office said.
