HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) – Kentucky State Police say they are taking steps to keep drivers safe. As part of that effort, they are reminding motorists about upcoming roadside safety checkpoints and increased patrols in problem areas across the district.

Traffic safety checkpoints are designed to provide a highly visible public safety presence, focusing on impaired driving, vehicle equipment violations and ensuring drivers have valid licenses. Officers will also address any other law violations or public safety concerns encountered during the checkpoints.

KSP Post 16 covers the following counties in the area: Henderson, Daviess, Union, McLean, Ohio and Hancock.

Drivers can find a list of Post 16 checkpoint locations on the Kentucky State Police website.

Motorists may also help improve highway safety by contacting KSP toll-free at 1-800-222-5555.
