Mayor Craig Greenberg marked the completion of Louisville’s River Road Multi-Modal Project, highlighting upgrades that improve downtown safety and connectivity.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Mayor Craig Greenberg announced that a key road improvement project in downtown Louisville is now finished.

Crews completed construction along River Road and the Louisville Loop, known as the River Road Multi-Modal Project, between 3rd and 7th Streets.

The project aims to boost safety and create a park-like environment beneath Interstate 64 and the The Belvedere. It also strengthens the connection to Waterfront Park and supports the park’s westward expansion.

Greenberg said the initiative is one of two major road projects designed to make downtown safer, more accessible, and more vibrant for the public.

City officials believe the improvements will draw more pedestrians and recreational activity to the Waterfront area.

The project cost approximately $2.2 million, funded through a mix of local and federal dollars.
