LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed Friday night in the city’s Jacobs neighborhood.

Officers responded just after 8 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 3500 block of Parthenia Avenue, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis. The location is off Berry Boulevard near Manslick Road.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Police administered aid until EMS arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. At this time, detectives have not identified any suspects and have made no arrests as they continue working to determine what led to the shooting.
